ON/OFF Switches are gizmos that originated in Super Mario Earth.
Behavior [ ]
ON/OFF Switches have two states, ON and OFF, which affect all ON/OFF Switches in the level. They can be toggled between by hitting an ON/OFF Switch.
They tin exist activated by hitting them from below, rolling into them, long-jumping into them, sliding into them, basis-pounding them, stomping them in Big form, hitting them with the tail and greatcoat in Racoon and Greatcoat forms respectively, swiping or diving into them in True cat form, drilling into them from the top in Propeller form, having a Koopa Troopa Motorcar crash into them, crashing into it while using a Bullet Bill Mask, attacking them with the hammer in Architect form, a charged fireball from a Fire Koopa Clown Car, Link's arrows, bombs, or sword, Boomerang, or missive from a Cannon Box.
They tin also be activated past a Boom Blast ramming into it (Only in 3D earth), a Bully ramming into information technology, a trounce hitting information technology, a Thwomp hitting information technology, Skewer hitting it, or an explosion from a Bob-omb.
They bear upon the following Course Parts:
- Dotted-Line Blocks - which change from solid to passable and vice versa when the switch is hit, only being solid when they are the same color every bit the switch.
- Certain unnamed forms of Tracks - which alter which path items will travel along at the junction.
- Modified Conveyor Belts - which switch direction when a switch is hitting.
- Spike Blocks - which extend their spikes when they are the same colour as the switch.
- ON/OFF Trampolines - which will bandy between beingness bouncy and not being boisterous.
- Track Blocks - which only move when the switch is ON.
In the Nighttime Underwater/Ghost House Course Themes, all spotlights are smaller when the switch is OFF.
